Summary

The MONARCA project develops and validates solutions for multi-parametric long-term monitoring of people with bipolar disorders. Integrated into a suitable platform, a system for the management, external and self-treatment of bipolar disorders is to be created by the acquisition and processing of physiological and behavioral information. This system is to be integrated into existing medical information systems and workflows.

The MONARCA system uses, among other things, technologies such as activity sensors to create a continuously updateable behavioral profile and to determine the state of mind. By combining this information with conventional medical patient reports and incorporating psychiatric expertise, the patient's condition can be determined and depressive and manic phases can be predicted.
