Competencies
Our core competencies are the analysis and prediction of the individual state of health, for example the analysis of motion and prediction of falls using accelerometric data. Acquired continuous measurement data are represented and merged to retrieve information. This information is combined with medical knowledge and further patient specific data to represent the state of health in this way. Then the patient, a person of trust or the healthcare professionals are informed about a patient’s state of health by an adequate feedback. In particular, the analysis and development of sensor-enhanced health information systems is of great importance in this process.
Other concurrent competencies, which are of importance in this area of research, are:
- design, implementation and evaluation of application systems in sensor-enhanced health information systems;
- integration of application systems in medical processes;
- decision support systems;
- information management;
- utilization of standards (e.g. HL7) in the context of sensor-enhanced health information systems
- design, realization and evaluation of clinical and epidemiological studies in the field of health-enabling technologies
- knowledge of the public health system, in particular the health care process
- wide experiences in interdisciplinary cooperation
