Comprehensive survey on the comparison of wire/wireless/hybrid health monitoring systems in smart-home; future trendBachelor/MasterEnglishBy now, several approaches in healthcare data transmission and data collection have been introduced in smart-home. Each has its own cones and prone. Wire based systems are highly using due to security concern in wireless mode of data transmission, ease of use in data flow, combination, multi-master-slave implementation, available power consumption, and many more. From the other hand, in many of wearables which nowadays are widely used in physiological parameters, are based on wireless mode data transmission. However, data loss, possible electromagnetic interference, data protection, power consumption, data synchronization, limited power consumption, and so forth are of serious concern in this trend. In this work, the intension is to introduce the state of art in both approaches, compare both in the efficiency and performance, and also consider the possible available hybrid systems to conclude. At the end of work, the future trend proposal is expected. No specific requirements are necessary, but student with even light experiences and general understanding of the smart apartment are encouraged to apply for this topic.
Fall detection in smart-home via ultrasonic sensors, data correlation and algorithm developmentMasterEnglishWith widely availability of sensors and modules for motion tracking and body positioning, fall detection more often is detected with accelerometer and algorithm development. Due to motion artifact and unpredictable activities of users, always there is a possibility of error in fall detection in this approach. Although by developing more sophisticated algorithms, this error reduces significantly. In this thesis,it is intended to develop a low-cost, efficient and simple fall detection system via ultrasonic sensor to cover whole apartment in different locations. Simple algorithm development and data correlation would be a part of this work. Sensor installation, localization and programming are within the project.General understanding of sensors, ability to develop simple code in C/C++
