The Peter L. Reichertz Institute: since more than four decades medical informatics with Professor Peter L. Reichertz as pioneer

In 2007, University of Braunschweig - Institute of Technology (TU Braunschweig) and Hannover Medical School (MHH) unite their medical informatics institutes as a joint institute, named Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics with two locations Braunschweig and Hannover. Aim is to establish a regional 'center of excellence'.

Four decades medical informatics

• 1969 P.L. Reichertz became professor at MHH, development of Medical System Hannover (MSH)
• since 1974 Institute for Medical Informatics at MHH
• 1975–1988 minor subject medicine at computer science program of TU Braunschweig, organized by Prof. Reichertz
• 1986 Prof. D.P. Pretschner, first at Univ. of Hildesheim, in 1996 move to TU Braunschweig
• since 1996 Institute for Medical Informatics at TU Braunschweig
• since 2007 PLRI
