Object of research

 

Our research concentrates on transinstitutional (inter-organizational) information systems for cooperative health care.


Research objectives

The aim of our research is to develop sustainable and stable information system architectures and information management principles in order to contribute to the quality and efficiency of health care and to establish new health care services.


The health information systems and management field of research comprises the following activities:

  • establishment of inter-organizational communication and documentation;

  • integration of health-enabling technologies into transinstitutional sensor-enhanced health information systems;

  • research and further development of techniques of legally compliant archiving and communication;

  • analysis, application and further development of information management principles for planning, monitoring, analysis and evaluation of cooperative structures and processes in health care;

  • conceptual design and implementation of applications for patient-centered shared care as well as for management of health care networks;

  • analysis and further development of methods for the management of information systems, in particular strategic information management (e.g. IT strategic planning, IT strategy boards, ehealth strategies).
